How To Perform A WordPress Website Audit

Your website is up and running; you’re getting traffic, you’re blogging regularly – you have your blogging groove – but every once in a while it’s a good idea to do a “check-in”. It’s a good idea to perform a site audit so you can figure out what’s working, what’s not and what can be improved. You’ll be surprised what a simple site audit can reveal about your site so here are three things you can do to improve your site!

1. What Content is Working?

What are your most visited pages? What keywords are bringing in traffic? Look at stats from Google Analytics, JetPack plugin and Google Webmaster Tools If you don’t have any of these installed, you get a small slap on the wrists but luckily, you can figure out where your traffic might be coming from by using similar web and sem rush Now, from this info you can see what’s getting you the most traction and traffic and focus your future content on similar and related topics. It’s also a good insight, so you don’t waste more time with content that’s not working!

2. Is your website Optimized for Google Search?

Is your site showing up in google like you think it should? Here’s an easy way to see what Google sees: Go to google search and enter: “sites:yoururl.com” So by default, Google will display your page/post title and then the first paragraph of text. It may make sense for most of your site, but depending on your design, your homepage might need some tweaking. To fix how your site shows up in google, use the Google SEO Plugin.

3. Is Your Site Fast Loading?

Not only could you be losing visitors from a slow loading site but Google says that it can affect your SEO. Try http://www.webpagetest.org/ or Google Speed Test If you see that your site is loading slow, then there are some things you can do.
